Feel free to ask me any additional questions if you want your curiosity quenched. And of course, there's me! I love figuring out lore. The manuals (found among the game's files) can be useful, but they're a bit outdated, and most of the information can be found in-game.TvTropes (less statistics, but more lore, in my opinion).Wiki (more developed than the first link). If you want to learn more about lore, I've got a couple of resources. I think it's fun to find snippets of information scattered throughout the game (and even sometimes outside the game) and piecing everything together. Personally, I think half the fun of lore is learning about it yourself. Almost all the Cultists heroes have been touched by the Queen's projections in one way or another: one hero had visions of the "End" from the Queen, while another hero had his mind wiped clean by the Queen's psychic emanations when she had a rage-filled day. In fact, the Queen's projections are so powerful, sometimes they cause people to experience strange occurrences. They are able to utilize Cultists followers and heroes to convert lesser people to join their cause. Now they've turned against their creators, and are now hell-bent on destroying every trace of their existence, and they'll kill everyone on their wayĭespite having a single city, the Queen's power is projected throughout all of Auriga through conversion. They are led by two creations left behind by the Endless: the Queen, imprisoned within her indestructible throne in the capital city (explains why the empire can only have a single but powerful city) and the Unspoken, a wandering - and perhaps insane - being of enormous power. Now its inhabitants must all find a way to survive the doom that is about to befall on their planet, whether it be through conquest, elimination, technological advancement, or even keeping peace with all the factions.Īs for the Cultists, they are basically malfunctioning Endless robots. One example includes the collapse of Auriga's climate: the winters last longer and are becoming more frequent as time goes on (reflected in gameplay). Together, they have come into conflict after they realize a horrible truth: Auriga is dying. Auriga is inhabited by several different races, some native to the planet, and some who are alien to the planet, all at odds with each other. So basically, Endless Legend is set on Auriga, a site of the major battle in the Dust Wars, the cataclysmic war that brought down the Endless. Someone should really work on creating one.īut I can try my best to answer your questions. There really isn't a single published document that'll explain everything there is to know about the world of Auriga. In the end, it's best if you do the research. Hero biographies are also a good way to learn more about a faction's culture. The more steps you complete, the more you learn about them. I know each of the faction quests tells a lot more about them. There's some stuff there, but nothing is complete. I guess no one's been really working to improve them. Wikis are incomplete at the current moment. One way you can learn more about the universe is by exploring the other games in the universe: Endless Space (Amplitude's first game) and Dungeon of the Endless (in fact, EL is a direct sequel to DotE). There really isn't one solid resource that can provide the answer to every question about the universe it's set in. You're right, the Endless Legend lore is fractured and scattered in bits and pieces.
